Paper folding machines have two speeds: 1. Operating speed, and 2. Duty cycle. Operating speed refers to the maximum speed per hour a paper folder's motor can run. The duty cycle is the recommended amount of paper a paper folder should fold per day or hour.
When a paper folder has an operating speed of 7,500 sheets per hour, this doesn't mean you should fold 60,000 sheets in an 8-hour shift. It means that you can fold a stack of 625 sheets of paper in 5 minutes. Overworking a paper folder will damage it or reduce its efficiency. Always refer to the duty cycle rate to determine the paper folders daily maximum usage. To determine the duty cycle of a paper folder check the unit's instruction manual, or call an authorized sales associate.
